Review:
By Rodger Edbert
”Before their journey is done, these characters with have undergone a rite of passage, and will have discovered themselves. What sets "Thelma & Louise" aside from the great central tradition of the road picture -- a tradition roomy enough to accommodate "Easy Rider," "Bonnie and Clyde," "Badlands," "Midnight Run" and "Rain Man" -- is that the heroes are women this time”
Audience Review:
“This movie works because it is funny and sad by turns and expresses the yearning we all have to be free of the restraints of society and its institutions (symbolized in the wide-open spaces of the American Southwest) while representing the on again, off again incompatibility of the male and female heart. The male-bashing is done with a touch of humor and the targets are richly deserving of what they get. The ending is perhaps too theatrical and frankly unrealistic, but opinions may differ.”

Review: By James Berardinelli
“In one of many nods to the most famous segment of Grier's career, Tarantino uses a '70s song to accompany her first appearance during the opening credits.”
-This influences the upbeat of her character and the pace of the film, simply form the beginning appearance.
Audience Review:
“Developed from a Leonard novel, the plot is a solid crime thriller with a good plot that still gives room for Tarantino to do some time shifting as he reveals some key scenes from different perspectives to allow us to see the bigger picture.”

“The entire cast exudes the confidence of the script and sell their often brutally witty dialogue well. The superb packaging of cool music and luscious cinematography completes the deal. And the ribbon that ties it all together is a delightfully clever conclusion.”
Audience Review:
“Anyone who watches it now has to remember that it actually changed the history of cinema. In context- it followed a decade or more of action films that always ended with a chase sequence where the hero saved the day - you could have written those films yourself.”
